People driving 70+ in construction zones on cell phones = bad...

So, I was driving on I-15 (North Bound) in SLC, UT area,

Someone on a cell phone cut me off and laid into the brakes....and so did I...

I looked into my rear view mirror, saw the car behind me slam on his brakes, then swerve out of the way into the construction zone...i then looked forward to ensure i wasnt gonna hit the idiot who cut me off...

3 seconds later (was goin about 20ish mph) BAM!...

The car behind the car behind me hits me (he was 2 cars back) going 70ish.

Thank god for plastic bumpers, all the damage really did was cut into my rear bumper (literaly cut into it) and scrape it up to all hell...

doesnt look bad from about 25 ft away...

Yes ! Happened to me on 05/28/2007 coming back from work. Stopped in traffic ( no construction ) looked in the mirrior and see the girl not looking in front, I hoped she would stopped and she didn't.

It's been in the bodyshop for about a week and a half. They had to change the whole bumper, trunk, and exhaust system since it bend it right next to the gas tank.

Should have it back this week, but for now I'm stuck in a god forsaken Toyota Yaris/Echo.

damn that sucks. i hate people in general. and i have a theory that the apocalypse won't be the second coming of Jesus, but the second coming of Darwin to kill all the morons in this world, starting with people who can't start their car without talking on their cell phone first.

TEXTING? JESUS!

I talk on my cell all the time when driving, but I always put it on speakerphone and make sure to be extra aware of my surroundings. People that can't multitask are the ones who get into accidents.

Honestly I think there are worse distractions that are already in your car, like your stereo.

That sucks though TCarter. Glad its only minor damage and that no-one was hurt!
