Question Approx. how long does it take/cost to install Eibach Sprtlines?

I have an SS/SC and Just got Eibach Sportlines today for my car. I'm wondering how much time it should take to install them, also what the labour costs would be roughly. Should I get them installed by my dealership or a custom shop? Any info will help, thanks.

took me an hour, had access to air tools, a lift, and spring compressor though. should find that shops would do it for between $100-$250USD depending where you go and how big an operation they are.

x2 they went in like cake... mine were the SSC springs, but it's the same exact install. very easy to do with the right tools.

i wouldn't go to the dealer for this. they will rape you. i think you should take the springs/ shocks out your self, then have them compressed at pep boys or whatever.

p.s. i suggest you start with the rear first. they are easier than the front. (but the front still isn't hard.)

I put mine in a couple of weeks ago. First time I have ever done springs. Took me like 6 hours but a lot of the time was taking my time and of course drinking a few beers and eating a few burgers!

Do not attempt without a spring compressor and an impact. Most of the suspension fasteners came out pretty easy with hand tools. The nuts on the front stabilizer links would have been a bitch to remove without the impact as would the nuts on the strut damper shafts. A brass hammer is also nice to tap out the lower strut bolts as they are a pre-loaded press in fastener.

You can do it, just take your time.

With no previous experience doing this it took me like 2 hrs tops by myself. Now i had an impact wrench and air socket and all that but regardless its not complicated at all.

I promise the most involved thing i have ever installed on my car before this was installing an intake on my old Z24 so if i can do it you can. Just find the howto on here and follow it step by step and its not hard at all.

I did it with no air tools. Although I do realize that corrosion makes things harder as time goes by.

You have to be pretty strong with some of the bolts. I didn't have air tools and me and my friend done it in 2 hours. But then again i'm buff.

You don't need new struts. Atleast not for a while anyways. They should be fine for a while depending on how bad the roads that you drive on are. You don't need a camber kit either. You'll be fine with just installing the springs for now. You'll eventually want new struts down the road though.

Electric impact gun peeps...worth-while garage upgrade. This job would have gotten frustrating without it.

taking my time w/ proper hand tools and properly lifted car i typically take 4 hours w/ several 20 min breaks. and several cigarette breaks. i do the job right tq'ing everything down to spec. so u figure atleast 4 hours at about 65/hour u do the math.

DON'T go to the dealer... better off just taking a few hundred and throwing it out the window... literally...

take it to a shop if you can't do it yourself... like mentioned, it's not really hard if you have the right tools... but if you don't, could be some problems...

So if I don't go to the dealer & get them installed will this void any kind of warranty? I'm gonna get them done at a shop.

GM dealer or not, they won't cover your shocks and struts if you put aftermarket springs on. As far as anything happening to the motor, then you will be fine. They'll have to prove that the springs caused something to happen to the motor.

By installing aftermarket springs, either by the dealer or otherwise, you void the warranty of your remaining suspension components. For instance, if you blow a strut, they won't replace it. But the likelyhood of that happening is no different then with the stock springs.

You must be a quick son of a bitch cause by myself with jackstands and air tools it took me a couple hrs probably. Did you have the spring compressor that you have to ratchet? If you had the one that is hydraulic then that may be what cut alot of time off. I fumbled with the piece of **** auto zone compressor for forever before i could get it positioned right to get the springs off...Not to mention i had heard several horror stories about the shitty compressors slipping off and whatnot so i was a little scared to use them

Sounds good enough! I don't drive my car much anyways, its mostly to work & back on the highway.

x2 I swear i think the rears took all of 15 minutes. One bolt on each side and your done.

Got it done under 1 hr but again thats with air guns/ratchets. Its not too bad with hand tools if you have the muscle, the hardest thing will be the two on the front strut housing holding it to the spindle. Be carefull with the strut tower nuts, i snapped one of the studs and i know several others have two. A new mount from the dealer was $75 bones . And your struts should be fine since the SS's came with gas struts they will last a big longer lowered then the 2.2's.
