Broken Cruise Control?

On my steering wheel there is a picture of a speedometer and a little arrow pointing to a certain speed. I would assume this is the cruise control function? Well when I press it a little light goes on but I do not remain at the same speed.. Nothing happens that I am aware of. Is this broken or a feature put on the base LS that was never intended to work?

have you hit "SET" on the other side of the wheel? This is just a toggle switch to turn the function on.

When you press the button on the left, this is just the on off switch. you also need to " set " the cruise speed on your right, so when you are at the speed you want, with the power on ( left button ) hit the set speed button ( right, toggle down ) and that will set the speed. you can then accel or decell using the right button if necissary.

also, make sure that you dont rest your foot on the clutch pedal(as i did). theres a switch that disables your cruise control on your clutch.

i had the same issue with my cobalt and i took it to the dealer, apparently there's been an issue with the computer in the cars that depending on how much the clutch is being used the cruise stops working
