even though i'll sound like a noob.... help...
ok, i know i'll get flamed on this one, cuz ive done my fair share of flaming....haha.... anyway, i was wondering if the magnaflow catback would void the warranty on my stock cat??? reason why i'm worried is because i just had a stock cat melt.... i know the law that states that they have to prove the part caused the failure, but with a exhaust thats pretty easy to do...... ALSO, i think theres somethin wrong with this new cat also... i was pushing 120KPA of boost the other night, on THE STAGE 2 PULLEY..... i'm scared to know what i would push with the 2.8 on..... keep in mind i just moved to NFLD, the air was at like 10* and were at like sea level.......
if they are ******** and hate aftermarket....they may try.
but if you complain instantly to see the manager, and make sure its known that your not going to put up with any bullshit....im sure you wont have any trouble.
the bottom line is, the cat is BEFORE your catback....the only possible way something downstream could cause a problem is if there was an increase of backpressure to the cat.
which we know is not possible, as the whole point of aftermarket exhaust is to reduce that backpressure.
I think you should be ok.
Dont put that 2.8 on....especially at sealevel, if you already have boost issues.
up here in alberta you would have been ok with 2.8, but i dunno if i would do it at low alt...

the problem happened before the cat. the cat back has nothing to do with the cat melting. the heat is produced before it, not after.
it seems the COT is just eating the freaking cats now too
