Stock SS/SC 18's already painted black???

Well i finally got myself pumped to paint my SS/SC wheels black w/ the polished lip like hatrickstu. Well after third shift i got the paint stripper, paint, primer, clear. Masked off the tires on two wheels (didn't feel like doing all 4 at once) and sprayed the paint stripper on the rims. Well i decided i didn't want to make this a whole day ordeal as i wanted to actually sleep before i work tonight so i thought i'd only strip all the paint off today and then paint them tommorow. Well after i wiped all the paint stripper and gunmetal paint off i noticed it was ******* black underneath. So i cleaned them off with soap and water and threw em on. A few pics are below. One pic shows the polished rim underneath the black. BTW this is still just temporary all though it looks pretty damn good for only stripping the top layer of paint, i still think it will look better with the polished lip.

Thats after the factory gunmetal paint was stripped where it took off some of the black paint that was underneath, just to show the polished underneath the black. Its by no means finished. I'm gonna try and mask off the face and try and just strip the black off the lip, if it doesn't work i'll just completely strip it and go from there.

Yes powdercoating is defintaly your best bet. But for this being under the factory paint its a nice $7 dollar mod (cost for paint stripepr).
