I think I saw somewhere that FWHP is in the low 120s to high teens. Cannot find where I saw this, but I know it was low 120s.

Some where I heard it was actually dynoed around 117. But there is an article in November Car and Driver on new crank horsepower dyno standards saying GM under rated a few of their vehicles. It also says Honda and Toyota may have over shot theirs.

Here's a link to the Injen dyno chart of the 2.2L Cobalt 2005 before and after their intake. They don't say what type of dyno this is though. Also thjat's a pretty big 19% drop in power, seems kind of excesive for a FWD car.

That's a much better 12.4% loss. If the 2.4L sees the same % loss you're talking 150 HP to the wheels.

The new SAE standard actually requires dyno testing with what the final components will be on the engine for production. I even believe it requires the AC unit to be in place if AC will be stock on the vehicle. So engines using the new SAE standard come much closer to the real flywheel HP you would see if you did a flywheel dyno of the engine in your car, instead of a naked engine sitting out for testing.

You only lose horsepower when the AC compressor is on! Having one "attached" does not affect power!
