if you have a pulley puller and air tools it will be a breeze!

edit: whoops, you are talking about changing a stage 2 pulley, i was talking about taking off the stock pulley.

What key are you talking about? If he has a stage 2 pulley already on I didnt think you needed anything special to take the pulley off cept for an allen wrench or torx headed wrench for the 4 pulley bolts (I never looked on mine what kind of head the 4 bolts have).

Thanks, I got the stock injectors, pulley and belt back from dealer, but they of course didnt have the bolt bit in the bag. Hopefully they got one laying around or can get one for me as the parts manager there is a buddy of mine so it shouldnt be a problem. Anyone know if those bits only come in the kits and if one fits all gm bolts they use for S2 pulley?. I dont feel like drilling out the old ones especially if they were loctited in by dealer.

Yeah pulley puller is needed to take off the stpck pulley. But like Nate said, you could always drill them out if the dealer refuses to return them. I cant see that happenning though. Good luck!

I think the dealers keep them (the tools) because they don't want you messing with them. That is why they are the weird shape to begin with.

go to crateenginedepot.com
look up the part number under the stage 2 kit for the tools.

there is two of them, the one you want is the one that fits onto a 3/8's ratchet

Yes I saw in the picture there are actually 2 bits. 4 bolts and 2 different bits? What are they like lug nut locks and they have different keys patterns for the same pulley bolts on one car?

Those bits are part of the kit, so technically if your tech or dealer kept them, they committed the crime of theft...

The Service Instructions even mention that the "Screw bits to remain with the customer upon completion of installation"...but I guess are schools aren't doing to good on teaching reading comprehension skills...

I had to "remind" mine after the install

I forgot to get my old injectors and pulley and they saved that stuff for me and I got it later, I think he just flat out forgot about the bits. Anyway, they have them for me, I just need to go get em. I actually can take the bolts out without the bits after looking at them.

now to get Nates pulley ordered and find someone to tune it here in Northern California.

I bought my cobalt used with the stg2 kit and the pulley screws were stripped so I had to drill and use a bolt extractor from AutoZone. PITA!!!
