Name this carbon/oil leak
Name this carbon/oil leak
I've seen this on a couple ecotecs now, for a car thats only a year old, it shouldn't be there.

Mine is not as bad, his (my buddy's cobalt) you can actually pull fresh oil off it by brushing your finger on it.

i'm aware its warranty work, but i'm curious to who else seems to have that issue.
i've also got carbon build up around the intake manifold... its been a wonderful year with this car
looks like they should be doing head gasket, valve cover gasket and quite possibly a main seal after further inspection
12k miles on it mind you all.
Ecotecs have just joined my list of engines i hate, along with getrag transmissions.
The ecotec sure lives up to the Saab engine reputation, it aint a saab unless it leaks.

rear exhaust cam seal is what it turns out to be.
Front and rear seals on both cams are extremely common to go out I guess. I've gone through all 4 seals 3 times now in the past 8k miles.
