Why? Never had a stick before? I took mine out in my only vehicle that had a stock one, it bothered me.

uhhh the main point about getting a manual gearbox is so that YOU can shift WHEN you want to. You shouldn't need a light to tell you to do so.... if that's the case why don't you sell your SS S/C and buy the SS non S/C automatic whnever it comes out....

I hope we are not confusing the shift indicator light,(like those on the LS manual trans), with that of a shift light for racing? I, for one, could sure use a shift light, like the "Raptor "that someone installed. I find myself hitting the revlimiter in first alot, RPM comes up quick and got eyes on the road.

Why do you need a shift light anyway? You have a tach!

You have to be looking at the TACH not the ROAD for it to be of any use. You don't have to be looking at a shift light to see it...............

seems to me you just need more practice. you will eventually know when to shift w/out even looking at your rpm guage by just hearing your engine.

Its possible that the light isn't the only reason to get one. To have a more accurate tach then factory may be his reasoning. I know it doesn't always hit the limiter when the needle is at 6450-6500, sometimes it lags.

Hey I have the Raptor shift light and love it. http://www.raptorperformance.com/

When I race (or just drive hard for fun) i have exact shifts right before redline and

never it the rev limiter. You can look at the road and never have to worry about looking a

at the tach.

I have install pics and info if u need.

all the cobaltd ive driven , and including the redline , the tach isnt even close to redline when the motor bounces off the rev limiter

and that would be a good reason to add a shift light for when your racing

this is one of the reasons why and also so i dont have to look at the tack all the time. the ss sc revs so easy that before you know it you hit redline. im not putting in a tach and shift light just the shift light.
