Cobalt SS/SC wins Koni Challenge race!

Went to Barbers Motorsport Park in Birmingham,AL on Saturday for the Koni Challenge ST (street tuner) class race. Eric Curran& Jamie Holtam in the #01 Georgian Bay Motosports Cobalt SS were on the pole& lead for the entire race (2.5 hours!). It was their first win this year after winning the first 5 out of 6 races last year before the Grand Am officials changed the rules to slow them down. It was great talking to people @ the race asking question on why the car was so quiet..(SS/SC have to run stock exhaust, minus cat) .I could barely hear one when they went by alone. The other cars (BMW 330i,Z4,RSX,TSX,RX-8,Mini S) were loud; the RX-8 was obnoxious!!. The Cobalt was the only American car in the race (3 of them) & won by 8-10 seconds over the Turner Motorsports 330i. I loved it! More info/picture on grandamerican.com.

Try www.grandamerican.com. for coverage. Race was with no caution flags= 2.5 hours wide open. Barbers is a handling track as it has 15 corners with only 2 short straights in 2.3 miles. Go to www.barbermotorsports.com for more track info= it is a fabulous venue! N.A.S.A. is holding a high performance driving school @ the track on Oct. 13-14 that I will be attending. Hope to see some other 'balts out there! You can get to NASA site from Barbers.... Oh thanks for the reps!!!
