Cobalt Die-Cast
there was one on ebay a few days ago but it went for some insane amount like 50$. You'd have to be a moron to pay that for an 8 dollar toy. I'm officially in the hunt for one to make money off of you guys. lol

There are some year-old threads about them.
There were some SS/SC die-cast models by Maistro (think I spelled it right) sold through Walgreens and Walmart. They appear to have all been bought up and occasionally pop up on e-bay and sell for $45-$55. You can find them pictured on the manufacturers' website -- but they no longer sell them.

Bah, had this for well over a year. No one seemed to care much then though

If they're the GM promos then they should be 1/24 scale and they should look real good.
Promos are usualy done up real nice.
But they aren't cheap usualy, I'd say expect at least a $40 to $50 a piece price tag. GM promo models are very limited in number and are highly sought after by GM promo collectors.

I have one of the Maisto (?) or whatever die cast cars. I got mine from my brother, who got it when he worked at lordstown. It is yellow, as is my car.
It is probably 1/48th or 1/64 scale. It is about 4 inches long.
Mine is in a box somewhere (I moved recently). The model is accurate but not really very nice. Overall shape and look is ok but there are pretty big seams where the plastic and metal parts join and the headlights look stupid. It looks as cheap as the other Maisto cars you can get at walmart for less than $5.
I'm keeping my model car because of it's history. From what I understand, GM paid Maisto to make the car and bought the whole batch. They didn't make too many and handed some out to the workers who made the new car in '05.
I keep hoping that someone will make a 1/24th plastic model or die cast SS/SC. But now that it is discontinued, maybe they never will.

Update---Just checked Maisto website http://www.maisto.com/product_detail...d=1677&from=64 and they show a new SS/SC model. It is one of their new "Excess Tuners" line. Just a drawing of car, no pic, and it has custom body panels and wheels (the '05 model was stock). It says 4.5" so is probably 1/48th. No price and when you click on "buy now" none of the list of retailers have the car in stock yet.
I also googled "model cars" and didn't find any cobalts anywhere.
