So finally getting some money towards my stage 1. I figure about another 2 weeks and I should have all of it. Why stage 1 and not stage 2? Cause the tune is the same as stage 2 and im getting 2.9 pulley and hub from nate. so install and everything I should save about $125.00 from just buying the stage 2. + a little more boost to boot.
heres the post from rukee
Stage 1 and 2 tunes are identical . My stage 1 tune has the exact same individual calibration file numbers as a stage 2 tune that was posted on here . They are the same , In the GM stage2 instructions from GM it says
LSJ UPGRADE KIT Stage 1 to Stage 2 PAGE 8 OF 24
IMPORTANT !
If you have not previously installed the stage 1 supercharger upgrade kit you must perform the following :
Your vehicle must be taken to your GM dealer to have the new calibration flashed to your ECM,
Even the calibration file numbers are the same
Stage 1 calibration file - 2006 Cobalt SS - 12607645
Stage2 calibration file - 2006 Cobalt SS - 12607645

I guess that if you were going with a 2.9 pulley either way, it would be cheaper to buy stage 1 and add the pulley and belt. Like you say, $125 cheaper.
I don't know why more people aren't concerned about their warranty. Dealers try to find any reason to not pay for repairs.
So just make sure that you keep your stock pulley and belt to put back on if you have a problem.

Well I'm a used car manager at a chevy dealer so the pulley will be no problem if I need warranty work. They just act like it's not there.
From me! I make complete modular systems which include a stainless steel hub, billet aluminum pulley, and all hardware.
