2.85 pulley on and now dipstick blows out

I just put a 2.85 S/C pulley on and the first thing thst happened afterwards it popped the dipstick out on a drive and oil was all over the place. Never popped it out before the pulley change so obviosly it created a problem somewhere as the intake gasket wasnt faulty before the pulley change. Probably gonna just put a breather off the back of valve cover.

There is a TSB out for it, it is for a new intake manifold gasket.

Yes I saw that on a sticky but the TSB is only for 05-06 models. The intake gasket was fine before the change, so obviously it was caused by the higher boost and a new gasket will do the same thing. They newer desgined intake gasket would have already been on this 07 model.

Change it again just incase. Also do a compression test for the hell of it since it's cheap.

Any 2007 should already have the newer designed one on.
Not necessarily, it depends when it was produced. Just put the old pulley on, take it in and make them fix it. No harm done there.

After further investigation I think I may have hit the dipstick while removing and putting back on the supercharger and not seen it sticking up 1/2". I pushed it back in and took the car out for 20 minutes of full boost driving 1st thru 4th gear redline half a dozen times, came home and the dipsdtick was fine. Hopefully thats what I did and its not a problem of something else!

just wondering, what is the mid muffler removed part of your sig? Are you talking about the resonator?

Yea my son is into that loud stuff 4 cyl sound. It actually sounds pretty good cept at some certain rpms where it sounds just flat out obnoxious ricey. He does realize the less back pressure he removes the less hp he is getting but doesn't care as hes after the sound. He's trying to be as loud as my Z06 with cats only exhaust...Now thats loud!

haha yah I could see it having a nice raspy sound without that resonator, which is why I have yet to go with a catless downpipe.

Personally I like the supercharger whine all by itself with a quiet exhaust. Mixing loud at both ends drowns out the nice charger whine.

Exactly, nothing like hearing that scream bounce off another car right beside you and then having a shocked face look at you out of the window
