Anyone know where I can have an exhaust manifold ported/polished in the D/FW area for cheap?

good luck finding one of these for cheap. You are prolly looking at around $300 or $400 for one.

If you have a spare one, just buy you a dremel kit and do it yourself. You can probably find a lot of information on porting online. I say buy the dremel, read up, then experiment on yours. When you master it, then you can be the local porting guy. If all else fails, contact Japeatr. I think he's had his blower ported.

Nah, didn't make it. We had just gotten back in touch. I hadn't talked to him since high school. Then in April, I got my Cobalt and went to his apartment one day. Like I said, it turned out we knew each other but hadn't spoken in forever.

That's funny. I know a couple of guys from the GTO forums that mett at a meet only to find out that they went to H.S. together. Small world!

Vaughn would be the guy to talk to though about having your exhaust manifold ported though, he knows a few people from here and there. I haven't asked him if he noticed a difference when he had his intake manifold ported. I'm sure the effects aren't that great, but every HP squeezed out of a motor is worth its weight in gold.

but brian (SScar tuning did mine with the dremel)...throttle body turned out great so you buy one and ill port it, you need specific stones and polishes tho

also i may be going to clarks machine shop to have my header resurfaced so its flat again so stay tuned

I ended up getting a brand new GMPP extrude honed manifold for $112 shipped on e-Bay this morning. Boo-yah! Vaughn, you buy that header from Kory?

It'll arrive today. I'm waiting for JapEatr to get his header refinished so we can install them together.

nice pick up. I just picked up a manifold from a member on here for $45 and I think I am gonna tackle the porting project since I still need to wait for my DP and I dont want to install until I get the exhaust. I actually found a good how-to on the internet and gonna combine it with blown4banger's how-to for porting the supercharger.

Def interested in seeing pics and hearing how the install was.

Do you know if there's a how-to on the install? We could make one if there isn't. Yeah, I was going to buy an SS manifold, but I ended up getting the GMPP for cheap. Do you have a d/p on the way? If not, I know of where you can get one for $50 shipped.

Edit: Nevermind, I found the how-to. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-gm-performance-parts-extrude-honed-exhaust-manifold-install-70397/

^ hahaha, cool, i'll have to check out the how to. I do have the DP on the way. I am gonna put off installing for a little while since I don't have the exhaust yet and when I order the exhaust, i'll get all new gaskets and bolts for the header and dp.

If i can get a camera, I will maybe try a how-to on porting.
