So how about some more info, like where do you hear the noise front back middle? Does it happen when its cold out or when the car is cold? Do you hear it more after you've been driving or idling like in traffic? You said it didn't do this when you bought the car, so did you have the gmpp cat back then or did you buy that later?
My exhaust makes a ticking sound when its cold out or if I have been driving for a while and its completely normal. The stock exhaust ticked very slightly and the corsa I have now ticks louder. Its the metal expanding and contracting for the heat and cold.
As for the dealer, you can call or write the regional rep if you aren't satisfied.

ive never had a ticking noise, not with my stock nor with my gmpp sport..sounds, does the ticking get louder when you accelerate? sounds like an exhaust leak, somtimes they are hard to pinpoint until they get worse. also could be a faulty cylnder valve.
I used to have to search for exhaust leaks all the time.
I would look for carbon buildup first. If I didn't see any, I would run my hand over the exhaust from front to back, trying not to burn myself of course. Even a tiny leak will puff a little. You'll feel it.
If it only happens when cold, it certainly sounds like what he fellow above suggested. A bad gasket.
Getting dealers to troubleshoot a sound without any other symptoms is a tall order. I hope it's an exhaust leak. If it's not, my suggestion is to drive it hard until it breaks. Then, they'll know for sure what to fix.
