I know I just joined here so this may seem a bit suspicious but I post at another forum (Cheersandgears) that "NOS2006" posts at as well. I saw that he got new wheels and tires with 235/40/18 over there, so I thought some other members here may be interested in my tires. If you have any questions about me, I'm sure NOS would not mind answering them.

Anyways...

I took these tires to the dealership to see how much tread they had left. One tire has 6/32nd of tread life on it and another has 7/32nd of tread life. The dealership said they had about 60% life remaining.

I don't have a tread tool, so knowing that they had about 6/32nds left I made my own. The mark starts right at 6/32nds and goes just past 7/32nds (this ruler only has 16ths, so the 3rd mark is 3/16ths or 6/32nds:
