But the price tag isn't. Anybody know anything about this?
It looks like you still utilize parts of the stock intake. You add that metal intake tube to the plastic stock part with the sensor and do a filter mod...

I think the colored vacuum tube set that guy is also selling looks neat.

yeah it's good but i'll be damned if i'm going to pay $85 for $20 worth of tubes <especially when we have rolls and rolls of it in the garage>
matter of fact i might pull all of those tubes off next weekend and cut my own and post up what sizes and lengths everyone needs to swap them out. that $85 is ridiculous, or maybe i should just sell the kits for $84.99
actually i bet it's not even $10 worth of tubing since we get it on rolls
Since I am the one that makes this kit I feel a need to chime in here. I don't normally post on these forums because it amounts to free advertizing, but I just have to respond to these comments.
First of all this is a real company our sites are*removed* and *removed*(the second one is down for service). We have been hot rodding NON Japanese Sport Compacts since 1980 and have a lot of experience with the Eaton M62.
This product offers a REAL DYNO proven gain. I guarantee a 9 horsepower gain at the wheels with this intake and a 5 horsepower increase at redline. For all thier big talk none of the other companies guarantee a specific horsepower increase, read the fine print. Furthermore, as I explain on my site and in the ebay add I dynoed the system in a way that favored the stock system so actual gains will be greater.
It's also worth noting that this system gives a gain across the entire RPM range. We did not play the game of changing the intake length to gain a couple horsepower at redline at the expense of the low end. A lot of companies do this so they can post a higher peak number when the reality is that in most cases your car will be slower due to a loss of low and mid range power. OH, and we don't expose the engine to increased risks of hydrolock or foreign object damage. This is not just a tube and some sort of filter mod. It's quite a bit more.
Regarding vacuum hoses, I assure you they are top quality, the largest size sells for $7 a foot if you can find it. This is not the cheap silicone stuff sold by Pilot, Matrix, or dozens of other cheap brands. It's guaranteed for as long as you own your car. We have over 180,000 miles on one car using these hoses for both vacuum and coolant with no failures. I know you can replace vacuum lines with Silicone for less money but you can't match this level of quality for this price.
Give me a few moments to figure out how to post the dyno sheet and I will do it. I am new here.

Ok, I did it! I must confess my computer skills are quite poor and my wife does all the website and ebay work. I was seriously worried I wouldn't be able to get the image up!
Anyway keep in mind these are GUARNTEED MINIMUM gains. Read the information about dyno B.S. many vendors use at *removed*
We are in Paradise Texas. About an 1.5 hours northwest of DFW. Very remote, sort of like that movie Deliverence. You can stop by with an appointment, I offer free installation of all of my products to anyone who actually comes up to my shop. email me if you want to stop by, I can't check this forum too often. *removed* Thanks,

OK, I got the message, I will be carfull not to post website links or dyno results again without paying. I will limit myself to answering specific questions. I really am sorry about that, I just felt a strong need to defend my product. I know there is a lot of junk on evil bay, but there are a lot of good vendors there too and it's tough to sort them out.
The posted dyno sheet which is now removed showed horsepower and torque before and after the intake. The baselines are in blue
Jmc007, That was the very first pull after installing the intake. You can actually see by the times in the upper left corner that I installed it in about 15 mins and ran it. As I said before I did not play any games with the dyno to try and come up with inflated claims.

Guess what Greg, I already knew it was the very first pull after the intake swap. Here how it happens on the SS/SC with high flow intake, CAI or filter : The first time, you can see a good gain, because the PCM didn't have time to get more fuel for the extra air. But after this, the PCM is compensate the extra air by adding even more fuel, this giving a less improvement, often no improvement at all, and sometime even HP loss. Did your second, third and other pull were lower than the first one ? I bet definitely yes ... The tricky MAF sensor on the SS will read the extra air, and the PCM will also throw a lean code. Did you test the air / fuel ration without and with your intake ?
Good points, but not the case here. With no changes every successive run on this car results in lower and lower numbers as a result of the intercooler heat soaking and other factors. Our intake puts out more power then the stock system regardless of what order you dyno it in or how many times you do it. I know there are a lot of variables in dyno testing, I have been doing this a long time which is why I am confident to claim and guarantee a minimum gain number. I did not just make a system, dyno it once and call it good. It's had a lot of testing.
I have been through these same discussions before with the Alfa GTV6 intake we sell. When it came out a lot of folks said it couldn't be better then the stock system for one reason or another, and certainly not better then brand Ks filter. Within a year enough race track and real world customer results made my point. My system was scientifically evaluated by an injection expert agains brand K and came out on top by a huge margin. Then a magazine did a review on it and got great results, in fact the editor of the magazine emailed me right away telling me he was in shock at how much power he gained. Now most in the Alfa V6 world know my system is the real deal. Over time the same thing will happen in the Cobalt world. For this reason I know that posting 10 dyno results with fuel ratios and everything else will create more questions then answers. I am in this for the long haul and am happy to wait for testimonials.

Yeah I posted about this awhile back. $85 is horrible for some damn colored plastic. But check out that guys rating.... his products must be worth something, or he's selling to the same crowd that thinks electric superchargers add horsepower.
No We don't sell electric superchargers or anything else that doesn't work. We do however sell custom supercharger kits using real positive displacement blowers, usually the M62.
If you check our competitor, hosetechniques you will find that thier pricing is about the same as ours, actually higher in most cases. However in most sizes our hoses have thicker walls and are a little better. Anyone who thinks our pricing is out of line simply has not shopped around, the profit margin on this stuff is not that high.
VaMP has a good point about the feedback rating. Almost all of our feedback is from hose kits, intakes, fuel injectors and other automotive products. The feedback rating is not padded by selling 1000s of Pokemon cards. All of our stuff works and does exactly what I say it does. Owners of Porsche Turbos, and Alfa Romeos are not the ones that get taken in by electric leaf blower superchargers and magnetic fuel ionizers and those are our primary customers.
One thing that our feedback rating does not show is the amount of repeat customers we have. A large percentage of people who buy one hose kit end up buying another one later for another car.

Hey Greg, sorry about the harsh words. I just really don't like Ebay whatsoever, so I'm quick to dismiss most anything on there. You seem to be a nice enough guy and have some proof to back up your claims. My biggest problem with your intake however, is that it's the same price as a couple other intakes that are full tubes down to the fender and have a much nicer finish than the one you guys produced. But I'm not saying that yours won't get the gains that you claim. Aem has already proven and intake like yours does gain power.
But I hope your guys aren't really planning on selling them for 210+. Just my 2 cents.
