The more we see 2.4L white SS’s, the more we wish GM made the Supercharged SS in white as well.

Many members made the comments that they wish the SS s/c came in white and I have received many emails from members and visitors asking why GM doesn’t offer white on the Supercharged SS.

Personally I have owned only white GM vehicles since I started driving, and without the option of a white SS s/c, it is a little hard for me to pick any other color.

So let’s do something about it! If you are one of the many that are hoping to see a white SS s/c, please post in this thread. I will forward this to GM and hope they will take our recommendation into consideration.

When i was getting my base i first test drove a white one and didn't want it because i thought it was a girl color. so i got the black one. but now i wish i had took it because i hasn't seen a white one around ever since i test drove that 1.

GM--Make white an optional colour on the S/C SS. It is pure folly to not offer it.

I think regional colors are stupid. LET US ALL AHVE ALL THE COLORS! And I saw at my dealer that pre-production there was a mettallic jade green avail too. They canned that for release tho....why?

Not true. Blue Granite is only available on the 2.4L SS, NOT the 2.0L Supercharged SS. We have all the same colors on the 2.0L SS as you Americans, with the exception of Silver.

No you can't! That is wrong information. GM will only biuld your vehicle in the Colors that they offer! I know this for a fact for two reasons:

1) VIN (vehicle identification numbers) identify paint codes. Thus, getting a car painted in a color that is not offered would mean that the car would not have a proper VIN code.

2) I wanted a Silver SS, but it is not available in Canada. My dealer called his rep to make sure they couldn't make one for me. THe answer was a resounding no. You can ONLY choose colours off the order sheet!

If you are ordering a Ferrari, they will paint it whatever color you want for a fair chunk of dough!

If the dealer is doing that, they are re-ainting vehicles when they take delivery! You can't order whatever color you want!

As much as I love white (my 4x4 S-10 truck I traded in was Summit White--such a clean look), the Cobalt LS model in white looks cheap (especially the front bumper). Now, the non-S/C is a different story--that looks awesome!

I would have shelled out more money for a white one. Haha. White ones are just so much easier to take care of and keep clean... plus with tinted windows and blacked out rims... it would look great. Add some red SteetGlow to it, and you got yourself a sinister looking SS/SC.

I like white, but the white they use on the GM's is cheap looking . I like the white they use on BMW's or Infinity's . It is like a pearl I think. I actually wish they did some type of green, that would be different. I mean, they made that puke color orange sunburst crap. :twothumbs

A white SS (nice white paint not cheap) would look awesome, especially with white seat inserts or even betetr with Recaros that had a lighter or white mesh color insert.

The world is based on $$$ and numbers and the fact is you dont see many white cars (sporty especially for a reason... just be glad they dont have a tan or green SS with tan fabric interior

whats wrong with purple? I saw a White SS today, it was pretty with the chrome rims....although the laser blue near it looked far nicer to me...but then again I like purple.

This reminded me of when I worked at a hardware store, and how the white tint (Kx) is the most expensive because it has titanium in it. Then I also remembered it is the heaviest, though my Arrival Blue with the metallic in it isn't that light or cheap either.

Whit is a color many people overlook. Oh it's white that's nice, NEXT! So it really doesn't make sence to have the top of the line model, a hot fast and loud coupe, in a not hot fast and loud color. SUnburst orange will get you noticed, white wont. CHevy wants you to get noticed, not overlooked.

Well I get my black SS SC this Wednesday. My last two cars have been white and if they offered a White SS SC than I would have gotten that also.

I'll get mine to match my Summit White '02 Silverado Z71 and the wife can keep her Sunburst Orange SS/SC...I want to do soooooo much to it and she keeps whining....If you don't hear from me in a few days, it means she found this post, LOL! White is by far the best color. Hides scratches, looks pimp with moderate wax job. They shine is soooo deep. Black looks awesome with a good wax as well, however not many people can keep a black car as good as denny can on the homepage Nice job man!

I wanted white too, but had to settle for silver. Now my SS/SC seems out of place next to my white 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT. And since I made all of my badges red (including the GM and SUPERCHRGED badges) it would have looked so much better on a white car. And I thing chrome goes better with white than silver since I got the chrome trim for the grill from the ltz cobalt. Why couldn't you have made white SS/SC's available GM?

Pearl is sweet but I don't think GM Pearl White would look good on an SS/SC.
It's more suited for the Caddy's.

I always thought the white was harder to clean in the snow, when it got dirty , but i guess black is as well...I wouldnt trade in my 07 for anything!

I spoke w/ a contact at GM Canada HQ today and this topic came up. I directed her to this site/thread. She is going to ask a few people in her office whats up w/ not having the S/C availible in white. I`ll let you know what comes of it.

Alright guys, i havent been on in a while and am glad to see you all are still bumpin on my cobalt. THE Only reason i havn't posted for cobalt of the month yet is that the car is no where near done and i don't want to sell it or you guys short. I have seen a lot of cobalts on here that are worthy of the car of the month, and i am glad you all think mine is worth it too. As of right now i have NO performance mods at all yet,i have plans for a turbo but don't have the cash yet, i haven't even got the dual exhaust done and the audio is a work in progress as we speak, big brakes are on the list too. Do you really think i should submit now or wait till i get some more stuff done??? :confused: Also, if you want to see anymore pics, look at my profile history, i posted a bunch of pics in december, right after i got the car back from body and paint...

Let us 2.4's have something exclusive! That's the main reason I chose white when I ordered my 2.4.......b/c the SS/SC's weren't offered that color and it sets my 2.4 apart from the 2.0 SS/SC crowd.

Let us 2.4's have something exclusive! That's the main reason I chose white when I ordered my 2.4.......b/c the SS/SC's weren't offered that color and it sets my 2.4 apart from the 2.0 SS/SC crowd.

Um, dead serious. Why's that so hard to comprehend? I wanted the 2.4SS from the get go, but I didn't want it in a color that people would confuse with an SS/SC. Seeing as the SS/SC isn't available in white, I chose that to be different and to avoid confusion with my car and SS/SC's, yet people who are unfamiliar with Cobalts see the SS and always ask me if its supercharged, so my whole reasoning was quickly extinguished.

All I'm saying is I like the fact that the 2.4SS has its own exclusive color. I know 2.2's can get it too, but I'm saying its exclusive among SS wearing 'balts. I can see why SS/SC guys want white and all, but its cool that us 2.4 guys have something kinda "exclusive" so to speak. Just like the EVO MR guys have gunmetal whereas regular EVO guys don't, and WRX haves have that bright red color, whereas STIs don't.

i think it's kind of pointless. GM won't listen after they discontinued it, although i wish they had made a white ss/sc so bad...recaro seats, white sided carbon fiber center spoiler ohhh skeettttt......

Dude,they are making the new Cobalt turbo in white. Thanks partially to me and the .net petition.

start telling the 2.4 white ss to supercharged it...or buy a 2.4 and boost it...agree white is nice but prob hell to keep it clean...I have rally yellow ...it seems to get dirty in 1-2 days after i washed it

I really wish mine was white... If it ever gets a paint job it's gonna be white.

you guys do notice this thread started over 3years ago with the SC first came out... discussing now is a moot point since the TC balt will be available in white.
