No you can't! That is wrong information. GM will only biuld your vehicle in the Colors that they offer! I know this for a fact for two reasons:

1) VIN (vehicle identification numbers) identify paint codes. Thus, getting a car painted in a color that is not offered would mean that the car would not have a proper VIN code.

2) I wanted a Silver SS, but it is not available in Canada. My dealer called his rep to make sure they couldn't make one for me. THe answer was a resounding no. You can ONLY choose colours off the order sheet!

If you are ordering a Ferrari, they will paint it whatever color you want for a fair chunk of dough!

If the dealer is doing that, they are re-ainting vehicles when they take delivery! You can't order whatever color you want!

As much as I love white (my 4x4 S-10 truck I traded in was Summit White--such a clean look), the Cobalt LS model in white looks cheap (especially the front bumper). Now, the non-S/C is a different story--that looks awesome!

Signed. I wanted the white SS/SC. I even emailed GM about it. I was hoping to order one from them special order, but they did not offer white in the SS/SC. I would have shelled out more money for a white one. Haha. White ones are just so much easier to take care of and keep clean... plus with tinted windows and blacked out rims... it would look great. Add some red SteetGlow to it, and you got yourself a sinister looking SS/SC.

When I bought mine I asked if I could have it specially ordered in White. After some reasearch by 2 different dealerships I got the same answer....No.

 

White would be ok... And the pearl white would be even better. But how about the interior? Black with white inserts? Now that would be killer...

Put it this way. If I HAD the choice I would of baught a white one. Look on the bright side atleast they didnt't come out with a purple one.

 

I like white, but the white they use on the GM's is cheap looking . I like the white they use on BMW's or Infinity's . It is like a pearl I think. I actually wish they did some type of green, that would be different. I mean, they made that puke color orange sunburst crap.

A white SS (nice white paint not cheap) would look awesome, especially with white seat inserts or even betetr with Recaros that had a lighter or white mesh color insert.

The world is based on $$$ and numbers and the fact is you dont see many white cars (sporty especially for a reason... just be glad they dont have a tan or green SS with tan fabric interior

whats wrong with purple? I saw a White SS today, it was pretty with the chrome rims....although the laser blue near it looked far nicer to me...but then again I like purple.

 

laser blue looks nice but arrival is better!

 

This reminded me of when I worked at a hardware store, and how the white tint (Kx) is the most expensive because it has titanium in it. Then I also remembered it is the heaviest, though my Arrival Blue with the metallic in it isn't that light or cheap either.
