Repost but good stuff. The Atom in England uses a supercharged civic engine and the north american one uses the LSJ. Jeremy Clarkson test drove it on Top Gear (the BBC video link on YouTube you posted)

I actually had an encounter with one on the street. He was traveling down Georgetown Rd next to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I about fell over in shock.

its old news...jay leno actually is the one who convinced them to make ariel atoms in the US and he's also the one who pushed GM into selling the LSJ as the power source.

Hi Guys.Yes,my Atom is Chevrolet powered!Basically the same drivetrain as your Cobalt SS 2.0 S/C'd cars with a stage three setup added. The best thing is I am only pulling around 1400lbs.Blessed Mother of acceleration! I have 275/40/17" DOT slicks out back and still could use a bit more traction. The car handles like nothing you have ever ridden in unless you have driven a shifter Kart. The brakes will put you through the windshield...oh wait...there IS no windshield I love the car to death, but like most, want MORE.I am working on getting the pcm able to communicate with HPtuners and once acomplished,I will be going with a Rebel worxs twin screw! 350rwhp sounds nice.

It was so funny cause the guys wife video taped it, and when he finished he watched the tape and was like hey that looks pretty quick.
We all said preety quick how about insanely quick, I cant remember the exact time but his sixty foot was very close to one second!

So I guess I need to start working on a way to swap a LSJ into a CRX eh? It probably weighs about the same.
