Stage 2 + 2.90 Pulley

Here we go...

First Impressions

Speed: There is a slightly noticeable gain in acceleration. It is apparent when climbing the RPMS between 5-7K. I wouldn't say it's a huge difference, but I can feel it pull harder.

Sound: There isn't a noticeable gain in volume. However, once you hit 5-6K RPMS the whine sounds more aggressive. Pretty cool...

Boost: I didn't get to redline it in 3rd yet, but in second it was a tick over 15. So according to our boost gauge, that would amount to 16.25 pounds of boost.

Second Impressions

After getting on it more, I noticed more of a difference. The best part about the pulley is the whine. It just SCREAMS...it almost sounds angry The volume has increased as well. I can't wait to get on it again today...

Was this a good investment? At this point for $50 bucks , I would say so. Install was easier than anticipated. If you Stage 2 guys want a little more out of it, go this route.

Pictures of it installed:

That is the tensioner you need to push with a 15mm wrench to loosen.

Nitrous is a touchy subject with our cars. I'm not a fan of it in general anyway...I know too many guys blowing sh%t up because of it.

Go put it on! It shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes. You might need someone to help hold the belt so it doesn't fall down when you slide it off. Just push the tensioner forward (Towards the rear of the car). Mine was really easy, but I have heard others have had a hard time loosening that bolt.

the 2.9 is a great mod! i dont get why people debate getting it or not, but will pay 200+ for an intake that only makes more sound.

i ran a stage 2 cobalt since i put on the 2.8" pulley and with him getting on it first i pulled about 1.5 car lengths after i got around him. smaller pulley=my best bang per buck mod.

silentd, imo if you are gonna put 60lb injectors in you should go with a 2.8" pulley.

what i dont get is why people are paying money for the stage 2 and then buying another pulley when u could get a stage 1 and buy a pulley and save $100.

ya but were they smart and have all supporting mods aswell? i know of some people that just go straight to it and boom everything dead.

i have just about every mod there is without redoing internals, cooling mods, wideband, and many more. plus i have hptuners to monitor it the whole time. like i also said is nitrious im very 50/50 about aswell so i may just forget the idea all together depending on what happens. but if i do go with it and bow the motor...you know what that means? racing internals

I jumped to a smaller pulley on my last supercharged car and I think this time I'm going to do everything in my power to not drop the size on this one. I want to make it the fastest SS S/C with the stock sized pulley. Has anyone else tried that and what did they gain/run?

Still pretty tempting for the louder whine, but I can do other things to increase that. Maybe not so much the boost level though.

I just slid the belt off. Just make sure it doesn't fall down the engine bay otherwise you will have a helluva time getting it back on. Just hold the loop (or have someone do it) while you put the other pulley on there.
