Exedy flywheel vs. Stock flywheel

My exedy flywheel has 3 broken teeth. how much difference do you think it would make if i just threw the stock flywheel back in. They are both steel flywheels. I wouldnt think much, if any, but i dont know all the exact details of one vs the other.
Thanks

If you have the exedy clutch I do not believe it would work with the stock flywheel.

And yea, how did you break off 3 teeth?

.... flywheels on cobalts are all the same size dimension wise, but i was refering to weight reasons. and im not sure exactly how they broke. The detectives are questioning my starter as we speak so maybe ill find out more in the morning lol

I think the factory one may need to be resurfaced or something to that effect, before using it like that. There may be a weight difference that would keep things from meshing appropriately

ya, there is a weight difference, but i dont think thats gonna make much of a difference. you dont NEED a lightweight flywheel for an aftermarket clutch. so if you can use your stock flywheel or a light one, i dont see why i cant reuse my stock one. but im gonna try to get exedy to warranty it.

Yeah, try to get them to give you a new one.
Some custom clutches only come with a matching flywheel because they won't bolt up to the stock piece. Those companies feel they need a stronger mating of the pressure plate and the flywheel. I don't know about Exedy.

If you put the stock one back on you HAVE TO get it resurfaced or look forward to more problems!

Stock flywheel won't work with the Exedy one. It is indeed different because the measurements/clearances are different. That is why the Exedy is sold as a flywheel/clutch combo. Call Exedy and get them to send you a new one.
