I screwed up pretty bad tinting my tails. The sanding job is attrocious, after drying you can see every scratch and it looks terrible. Paint is uneven and ****.. anything I can do?

Very light sandpaper, thats why I practiced on my side markers first, didnt like it so I didnt sand my tails. Id say go to a junker and find a new set, sorry.

I did have to redo my inner tails, I got some mineral spirits and a razor blade. Along with some elbow grease. Then just try sanding them with a higher grit to see if that will fix it. Good luck.

Sanding/painting can be the easiest thing to do, but as soon as you take it for granted and don't pay attention, you get fucked.

didnt sand mine either. just take some paint thinner, take it off, and go at it again. If you can find them, might I suggest Abralon pads. they come in all grits and are designed for wet sanding. they work great.

Go to a local bowling pro-shop. companies actually ship pads with equipment now so odds are they have a few extra on their hands. the shops will have 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000.

Thanks for the feed back. Does anyone know what 'P120' Sand paper is? Is it similar to 2000?

p120 is like using a shovel to sand your lights. if you have some 400 wet/dry paper, wet sand the entire lens again until it is nice and red. clean with a paint prep or thinner. Spray thin coats of tint. wait for it to completely dry. a few hours on a warm day. then hit them with some 1500 wet paper. now spray your clear. sanding with 2000 wet after dry. use some rubbing compound after you finish and viola.

if you really have a prob. pay shipping and i will do them when i do my girls lights. and ship em back . no charge

if you didnt sand your lights before tinting....wait about 6 months and hit them with a pressure washer. it will chip right off.

READ THIS FIRST... you can try taking the tinting off with paint thinner.... then try it again, if you spray evenly from like a foot away you shouldn't have to sand it. Good luck, i wanna see pics though of your screw up haha

Buy these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...spagenameZWDVW and let me know how they look lol. I did message the seller to see who the manufacturer was. As soon as I find out I will try to find them cheaper. I had the same problem you did with my old car. I would have been better off not sanding them. I ended up just buying some aftermarket tail lights. I don't know if you will really be able to fix these. I am scared to do the ones on the cobalt. I might just buy the ebay lights haha. I have only used night shades on my side markers.
