Stage 1 Cam Emission Friendly?

I have a question about Comp. Cams Stage 1
The emissions testing done here in Vancouver is almost like California so I'm wondering if can I use this Stage 1 Cam without screwing up my emissions. I'm not sure if this will throw a C.E.L. or will it make my car run too lean
Any help would be appreciated

I know it wornt thow a CEL, as we have sold a ton to the 2.2 ecotec members, however I am not sure about the emissions level. I am assuming you are refering to the Comp Cams we carry @ www.TurboTechRacing.com

a flywheel wont technically give you anymore power. it just lets the engine rotate faster with less drag. but someone tell me if i am wrong.

the aftermarket flywheel will also be lighter than the stock flywheel. So that does help with acceleration some, i think its due to the engine having to work less to rotate the flywheel. Correct me if im wrong but i think the technical term is called rotational mas or somethin close. I could be wrong on that term.

From what I heard some members here put their Stock Camshaft back in after finding out that it runs too Lean when you have a Comp. Cam

you will notice alot of difference with the flywheel in the first two or three gears, there's a post somewhere on here using a nissan sentra for an example. in first gear every pound lighter the flywheel is it's like removing 39lbs from the car. the fidanza is like 7.5lbs stock is somewhere around 19 so it's like removing 448.5lbs. second gear is like 9lbs for each pound so it's like removing 103.5lbs. each gear higher the difference gets smaller.

so how much would the cams add HP wise. I know you can use them to move the power range around, but since most raing is done in the higher rpms, how much HP are we talking? just curious.

with few other mods, probably not much. maaayyyybbbbeeee 15 whp, but it will def. help with your power curve which will in turn help with acceleration.

Stage 1 cams on the ecotec with basic bolts on's will get you about 10-12 HP. These have been dyno tested back in the day on the 2.2 ecotec cavaliers, which is the same drivetrain setup as the 2.2 cobalts...

With stage one, you just drop them in, no other parts are needed, anything past stage 1 and we would recommend upgraded springs.

Same thing I was thinking
Also with all the bolt on parts I have this might shift my powerband too far up
If my max hp is at 6300 rpm's then I would'nt drop in a camshaft until we find a way to remove the rev limiter

I found one person with a Cavalier that had stage 1 cam and he said it runs fine but most of the power was between 5600 and 6800 rpm's
I usually shift at 6300 rpm's because otherwise ill hit that harsh rev limiter

100% correct... They are not a direct fit for the 2007 as of extra sensors..

hmm that scares me, where do stage 2's make their power at then.

i guess if this whole tuning thing pans out and I bump the rev limiter to 7.2K I would still be within the power range of stage 1's.

For Stage 2 Comp Cams it's 3000 to 7500 rpm's

Do these cams cost a lot to have installed? Chance of messing up something else?
