Raced my car for the first time tonight

My first run ever was my best at 14.8 @ 97. After that I sucked a couple times, experienced wheel hop majorly, and also missed second once. Then I was able to run a 15 flat on my last run. Not too shabby, I kinda surprised myself.

Nice starting spot man. The more practice ya get, the better you will do. Learn how to drive the car. The whole race is in the first 60ft with this car.

Yea that's the problem, I either spun the tires or missed second on my other two trys. I was pretty happy for it being my first time though. Oh, and this was up at speed world.

I raced my wife in my z3 (she's the one that I bought the cobalt for) and I only have a 1.9L base model engine in my car. As much as I hate to say it, she whooped my ass! And she has an auto. 2.2L! Anyways we raced up to 100mph and when all was said and done with she was at least three car lenths ahead of me! It was fun though....

Racing is one of the best ways to have a great time no matter what or who your racing.

DUDE nice first time run you beat me by a tenth of a second ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... I will have to see this speed world track that everyone goes on about in comparison to fireturd ... if its even SLIGHTLY more sticky than fireturd I can see myself doin 14.6 in stock form ... we need to all meet up again and head to that track soon ... what was the race fee at that track???

I just bought myself an 06 SS last week and have noticed the wheel hop issue. Just wondering if you guys new what I could do to stop and/or prevent the wheel hop. In my 98 camaro I just upgraded my control arms and the wheel hop never happened again. Is there such an upgrade available for the SS?

not that i know ow but man would that be sweet. I could cut down my personal best of 14.5 without all that wheel hop.

The track is on happy valley and grand avenue, which for most of us is crazy far away, but i'd be willing to go if some other people wanted to tag along. The fee to race is $25, for spectators its $15. They have drags every weekend, lets get somethin together.

I wouldn't mind tagging a long as well if you guys head out there, i want to see how the cobalts do. When i was at Speedworld last time (two weeks ago), it was $20 to race and $10 to spectate.
