Noises from my clutch pedal

So I have noticed the noise from yesterday. When I push down on the clutch it makes a squeaky noise and when I release it makes a tick short of noise. I'm not sure what is wrong but it's got me a bit worried seeing as the car is just 4 months old.

Another question as well. I have the 2.4L G5 GT coupe..what kind of oil should be going into it when I take it in for oil changes? As I have noticed that something is off with the car since I took it to the dealership for an oil change a week ago.

Please help

its the clutch pedal assembly... its rubbing plastic on plastic. step on it slightly to the right and it won't make any noise. im on my second one. the click is the switch

i dont think it matters what kind of oil you use for the 2.4's ive used mobil 1 and regular dealership oil and see no difference in power or economy

The click I have is almost deafening when next to a building and windows down lol....but myclutch is on its way out....

Red, I don't know if I have the same problem as you, but if I floor it in first or second gear, my clutch pedal stiffens up and I can barely push it down....I have ideas as to what my problem is but I highly doubt they are right

the squeak is normal. Most clutch pedals will do that with wear and tear. If you want squirt a little lubricant on it to make it a little quieter.

Does the click happen when the pedal is pressed in or as you release it? is it a really loud click or is it quieter, like flicking a switch.

If it's quieter then it's probably just the switch that tells the car that the pedal is depressed and you can start your engine.

If it's louder(really loud) then it could be a broken pressure spring in the clutch assymbly itself. Since these cars have hydraulic clutches I don't see too many other things that could cause it.

Toyotech - I actually did press down on the right side of the clutch but the noise did not go away

Novajoe - it's actually a quieter click...the sound just came all of a sudden so I got a bit worried but thanks for the advice! I will try that out for sure with the lubricant. And the click I believe is when I press down on the clutch..I will have to check again later today when I get in the car.

while on topic, is there any way to adjust the clutch pedal? i noticed if i reach and touch it with my hand, i can push it a little ways very easily, and i'd rather it be stiff from the start. always better. any suggestions?
