i could be mistaken but that does nothing for the cobalt...the 2.0T in the saab is not the same as the LNF and is completely different.

The LNF ECOTEC engine is an LNF engine regardless.... the issue for some will be the transmission its mated to. Obviously if it is originally factory mated to a RWD, the intake and exhaust tracts will not work without modification for a FWD swap. On the other hand if the LNF is found in a HHR SS, it should swap into a Cobalt fairly easily.

GM is manufacturing ECOTEC engines and their components so they "plug and play" for the most part.... but you do need to do some research and understand the capabilities and limitations of the components before you start making a hybrid swap.

The LNF is the same basic ECOTEC block as your current engine. It will bolt up to the same FWD transmission. But you need the whole LNF (FWD) engine package (wiring harness, ECU, air induction,fuel lines, turbo, exhaust, etc. ) Until the 2008 Cobalt SS is generally available the HHR LNF is going to be the best source.... You could use a current Soltice, Redline, or Opal LNF engine but they are of course set up for RWD.
