View Full Version : drop in 4 the 2.4? Python467 11-16-2005, 08:43 PM is there a drop in k&N air filter for the 2.4? if so how much, and does anyone have one? :cssNET: RaineMan 11-16-2005, 09:07 PM Yeah... K&N just came out with a drop-in filter.... it's the same one as the 2.2L.... should retail for about $50. I say save your money and buy an intake. Also, I think there's already a thread on this somewhere. BlwnGP 11-19-2005, 12:00 AM You can order them from Murray's Discount Auto, they are $42.99. I just ordered mine, should be here in a few weeks (they were out of stock in the warehouse, they had to order from K&N) celicacobalt 11-19-2005, 09:48 AM just be careful with these and before dropping it in make sure they are not over oiled becasue when i put mine in my celica it was overoiled from the box and the oil got on my maf sensor and made my car keep idling bad and stalling so i hade to use a q tip to clean off the sesnor then the car was normal again Stealth06_SS 11-19-2005, 03:59 PM I got one on monday of last week. It was like forty something shipped. You can tell a little difference. I noticed I got a little better gas millage on the highway. Python467 11-21-2005, 08:42 PM definatly went to every auto parts store in my area and they said they are to new to even order so they said that i should check back in like a month or 2, i decided i want to get the drop in because i do have a lease vehicle and dont wanna sink a ton of money into it and have to loose big on it and plus the car is driven year round in snow, slush, rain, etc. dont know if a CAI is reliant to have in these conditions as upposed to a plain ole drop in. RaineMan 11-21-2005, 11:54 PM That's why I left it just the Short Ram version on my SS, no worries about any damage in wet weather or etc. The great thing is the stock intake comes off so easily that you could just put it back on after your lease is over and not have anyone at the dealership know the difference. |
