Brakes Rotors

I have searched and came up with nothing. I had Brembo drilled when I drove my 04 Cavalier and loved them. Unfortunatly Brembo does not make driller rotors for my SS S/C. What is a good brand of driller and slotted rotors? I am thinking of either getting Baer or GMPP.

You could get Brembo blanks and have them custom drilled for not that much money...

You should get either drilled or slotted not both.

EBC rotors are awesome. Power Slot are good also, however they have been on a national back order for 3 months, and power slot states no more will be shipping until after the 1st of the year.

IMO EBC is the way to go with the EBC pads.

Do you know where to get Brembro blanks for the Cobalt? I'd love a set when I need to replace the Raybestos ones I've got now.

Slotted > drilled.

There's a LOT of information out there on why drilled and slotted rotors are bad. Drilled and slotted, contrary to popular belief, do NOT enhance performance. It's strictly an aesthetic modification. Drilled in particular tend to build up heat and cause the rotors to crack, this has happened 3 times to different people I know, two with Brembro CD&S rotors and 1 unknown brand of drilled rotors.

For racing purposes you should never EVER run drilled rotors in any sort of brake-intensive racing like auto-x or road racing. You'll absolutely destroy your brakes. I've seen it happen no less than 50 times. Usually it's some ******* in a Z06 who goes out and lights his or her pads aflame by the middle of the 2nd session.

If you really believe that stuff like drilling and slots helps and you want them for performance instead of aesthetics, buy slotted only. If you just want brakes that look cool, and don't care as much about performance, go with whatever floats your boat.

In all honesty, I've found that vented blanks work the best performance-wise. That's why I kept OEM-spec rotors on my car. That's why a lot of high end manufacturers who put CD&S rotors on their production cars swap them in favor of vented blanks for racing.

drilled rotors crack, plain and simple. ive seen it happen many times. were i am they are actualy not legal and a car with them wouldnt pass a DOT inspection, because they are known for cracking.

slotted rotors do help, and if your going with anything other than oem, go with slotted rotors.

That goes back to you get what you pay for! If you buy a Rotor that can handle the Heat then you dont have to worry about them warping! GM even makes their aftermarket 1s with slots so that should tell you something!
Also torque down of the wheel has alot to do with rotors warping if you dont use a Torque wrench then chances are they will if over Torqued! These are the warnings & Instructions that came with my DBA rotors>>> Look at the Boiling points then the Rotor Heat Points warping should not be a problem unless you are trully a animal with the car!

well im running drilled/slotted from uneek for over a year with many over 100 mph to 0 mph braking with no issues. maybe they are high quality or something but what i read earlier in this thread is not my personal experiance though i do not auto x or anything like that just drag racing and aggressive street driving.

The stock rotors are fine once you change out the pads. I'm running OEM replacements with Hawk HPS pads with NO grooving or warping issues. That's through 3 auto-x and 2 days out on the road course +10k on the street. They're still good as new.
