Talked to my mechanic about my clutch today...

and heres what he told me,

I brought my clutch to work with me today. I have a guy named Fabian who is my mechanic that works for me. Well, I showed him it, and I asked how much will you charge me to install this? He looked at it and says, "Nothing". I said nah for real man how much? He goes im not installing it, i said why not? he goes becuase i want you to, and ill gladly sit there and help you out. I GET TO DO MY OWN CLUTCH!!! haha woohooo!!! this is going to be great. So all i need now is a new flywheel and im set.

One question, i didnt open up the packing and bubble wrap on my clutch, its a SPEC Stage 2+ does it come with a new bearing? he was asking me to ask you guys just so i know if i have to order a new one or not to. Thanks guys, and yes like always i will have pics of how it goes.

Why dont you open it and look? The spec clutches i put in my other car came with a new throw out bearings. You might be happy now thinking about doing your own clutch, but once you start it youll be cursing it out.Trust me,lol.

yeah maybe, i asked him how hard itll be? he said hes never done a cobalt before, but he did a cavalier and i asked how many times have u changed clutches? he goes holy **** like 5 million times, i said alright, so i cant wait to do this guys, and imma go open up that package now and check for the bearing

i just opened it and i do not have a throw out bearing in there, where can i get one?

if the f35 is like the f23, the release bearing is part of the slave cylender, so it will be pricey, possibly a gm only thing.

thats a cool mechanic you got there. doing your own clutch will give you a lot more respect for your car, and a great amount of satisfaction.
