Twin Disc Clutch setup? Interst?

Who would be interested in a Twin Disc clutch setup for the 2.0L engine?

It would require a new special flywheel, as we would need to make a special flywheel to work with the twin disc clutch.

We would need about 10 interested and serious to do this setup, to get this project started.

Price, advantages, warranty, etc...
All handy information for those seriously interested. Otherwise, all you're going to get is the standard:
"Man, wish I had the money for this."
"Damn, I just bought a clutch"
"Will this still be going on at tax time?"
"OH Yeah, I'm in" (then no follow through)
The list goes on......

We could offer a Twin and Triple option with torque capacities of 800 and 1200ft.lbs respectively. These kits use carbon-semi-metallic discs and are very strong but still offer a modicum of drivability. Again it would include a flywheel.

These would be the premier all out clutch for the cobalt, which would be the stongest in the industy.

Here is what we would offer, 4 different kits:

Twin Disc Aluminum Flywheel
Twin Disc Steel Flywheel
Tripple Disc Aluminum Flywheel
Tripple Disc Steel Flywheel

Pricing for a complete kit would be $1400-1800 depending what kit you would get above. Is there such interest for this high end clutch setup?

seems like that's a little TOO high end. i seriously doubt that anyone on this site will ever need a clutch capable of holding 1200 ft. lbs.

i bet you'd have better luck trying to make something that's better than stock, but is not $1,000

Well there are plenty of choices with the Exedy hyper single and the SPEC stage 3+

Right now those 2 kits are the top and best kits out there.

There has always been talk and interest for an even better clutch kit, that is why we are looking into if anyone still has interest.

Way over kill..... Your offering a 1000 Hp clutch when people can only get around 300 hp. People get a spec 3+ and you will be fine.

Remember it will hold 800 or 1200 ft/lbs BUT you dont want to get that close to the limit as it will not hold.

I would say the MAX you want to run the twin disc at would be about 550 ft lbs to make sure the clutch holds everything you put at it.

You dont have to have 800 ft lbs in the car to use this clutch.

thats the biggest issue, is once you get a clutch thatll hold the power, and the motor putting out that power, the tranny wont stay together.

i dont think building a clutch for that sort of power is the answer. a better idea would be to build a dual disk clutch that uses organic faced disks. this way it retains stock or slightly increased pedal effort, has nice engagment (not grabby or chattery) but will hold twice the power. now if you could build that and have it come out under $1000, that would likley be the hot ticket for people wanting to make decnet power, but there car isnt a race/toy, but a daily driver with the ocasional autocross/ drag race.
