Anyone selling a header?

I am looking for a true header not the GMPP manifold (which I have now)... I am running into some kind of restriction and don't know quite what it is!

So if someone is selling a header that will bolt up to the 3 bolt ZZP 3" downpipe post it up, or PM me with a price I am looking for something fairly cheap, if it is used and in good shape I am good with that too!

Thanks....

I would also like to find, but what kind of restriction do you think you hit?

I am going to sell my GMPP one... I think I either am over flowing the header, or I destroyed the cat? Who really knows...

My car wouldn't go above 260.8 hp this last time, running insane timing and fuel maps, so there is a restriction somewhere, or the car wants more boost than the 2.85 will give it... so I am starting with cleaning the airfilter, 2.80 pulley, and replacing the cat with a steel core unit, and try again!

i have the original TOG prototype header that gave 9.9whp gains i may be able to sell cheap. it was on my car for about 20k miles before i started working on the turbo kit.

the downpipe flange may need to be resurfaced, it may be warped slighty, cause when i took it off i broke 2 of the bolts off in it. there is also 1 bolt on the exhaust flange over the #2 exhaust port that will need a smaller head bolt than the stock one, to go on properly.

let me see how much it will be to ship that thing will cost then if anyone is interested i can shoot you a price. i would like to get about $50+shipping for it. not looking for much, cause it needs those bolts removed in the downpipe flange and possible resurfaced.

<edit> the bolts are sticking about 3/4"-1" out of the hole, so if you put the header in a vice, you may be able to just twist out the bolts with vice grips or something. i just didn't feel like messing with it when it was removed

Hey I would deff. like more info on the TOG header man!

Look sorry guys I know I love ZZPs stuff! I have their ZZP 3" downpipe and a CUSTOM ported GMPP manifold. I am looking in that 50-100 dollar range right now...

And I am getting a steel core catalytic converter from Area47 to fix that problem!

Same dyno, same tuner, basically same temperature +/- 5*

you were the first to pm me, so if you want it i'll give you first dibs. but i forgot to mention 1 thing... the stock gasket will not work, i had to make my own gasket from a sheet of felpro exhaust material. i THINK i still have a piece of that already drawn out, ready to cut but i'll look for it. if not, those sheets can be bought from autozone for $12 i think it was, and you can cut out the gasket out with metal shears or hammer and chisel or a plasma cutter if you have access. the gasket material has a layer of metal in between two layers of asbestos, so you won't be able to use normal scissors.

or you could also just use header flange sealent. we use esco copalite high temp sealent for flanges on all of our race cars, instead of gaskets... but if you have to remove it from a cobalt, the copalite would be a bitch cause it has over a 6000 psi holding strength on metal to metal @ over 1000 degrees, so you wouldn't be able to melt it off with a heat gun either.

So it won't bolt up to the 3 bolt downpipe flange??? I have a ZZP downpipe with the 3 bolt header to manifold flange.

Because where I am moving they do sniffer exhaust tests and I will need a catalytic converter once I move!

it will bolt up fine as long as the zzp flange is identical to the oem cobalt bolt pattern (which i'm sure it is). the manifold flange, connecting the header to the head is th eone that needs the special gasket. like i say, i think i still have a pattern marked off on a sheet of gasket material. if i have that i will send it with the header, so all the buyer has to do is cut it out around the lines.
