my soon to be headlights, decided to take the cheaper alternative!!!
heh, weird that's what I am planning on doing with mine if I can't aquire a pair of Astra lights to do a retrofit... just projector retro, removing amber marker and adding leds right where you have them. Great minds think alike
did you make those or did someone else?
haha u need the ballast, and all the other things so you will spend 350+ for the headlights..
Jrelly pm me if you want some in the future i have a guy who can make em for u custom as custom gets

Did you get them professionaly done or is that your work? I like the look of the chrome trim, but I don't know how that would look once on the car.
The wire harness is a piece of cake, just takes some time, consintration and solder. PM me if you need help.
Here were mine, I think I might scrap the parts and start over though in the spring, I have extra headlights in my storage unit.

One thing if your doing the retro is to make sure that before you seal everything up, all the lenses are SPOTLESS. That includes the projector lense, otherwise you'll get spots. Another reason I'm gunna redo mine.
I have AL Ballasts and 6000k bulbs with the e55 Bi-xenons with the high beams wired, but I want to switch to the TL/FX combo. The cut-off color and width of the beam is unreal. The e55s are known for their amazing high beam output, but if you need high beams with those, you must live in the middle of nowhere.
Oh!! And lastly, for cheaper parts, check on HIDPlanet.com. You can get them used, for much cheaper. I only paid $90 for my projectors.

Oh Noes! I better hurry up and finish mine! lol. You gunna fiberglass, then bondo and paint?
I used OEM e55s out of a 7 series BMW. Either way both the projectors are the same style and should produce the same results. Just make sure you get the ECEs otherwise your gunna end up with Right hand drive projectors. The difference is on ECEs the cutoff tends to bend upwards on the passenger side, since there isn't traffic on that side of the car, it lights up the signs and gutters and such. On a european car, they drive on the left and traffic is on the right, so it's flipped.

Not a noob question. I Usually on a mold like that, I would lay out how you want it with the carboard like he did... then buy some really strechy fabric. Stretch the fabric over the cardboard mold and fasten it down so it won't give back. Apply Fiberglass resin to the areas you wish to have harden, do not apply to areas that are getting removed (Projector locations). Once that layer gets hard, then flip it over and add fiber glass matting to the back part of the mold. The reason you would apply to the back is because the matting makes it harder to sand down and if it gets uneven, if it's on the back who cares?
Then after it's hard enough. Sand it all down smooth, apply bondo, sand smooth, apply bondo, sand smooth, apply bondo, sand smooth. Apply High build primer, sand smooth, apply different color primier, sand smooth again, the paint.
Tedious, but that's how I do it.
