Dealer won't install Stg2 because of Liablity!?!?
For the heck of it I went thru the hassle to see what it would cost me to get Stg 2 on my car. Spoke with a service tech and as usual had no idea what a Stage 2 was what it involved or that it was a GM part. I bring him up to speed with the info from Gm Performance Division I printed out so he looks at it and catchs the part were it says the warranty is not void if done by a GM dealer.
He turns to me and says who told you the warranty is not void?
Uhhh Gm did and by now I realize he has no clue considering he reading the info from GM which clearly labels that it's from Gm. So he has parts look it up.
Comes back tells me it will be 750 to purchase it. I said thanks but thats not what I asked.
"How much to install it?"
He says "I have to run it by the Service manager".
20 minutes later he comes back and tells me the manager won't allow it to be installed.
"Because if the engine blows up where liable."
I gave him this look of confusion and said. "Sir, you realize this is a GM part that is warrantied by GM and covered. If something happened they would fix it. "
He responds "ya but the manager said we would be liable for the damages."
I said "so let me run this by you. I man comes buy because the timing chain in his corvette snaped. You fix it under warranty.
Next day he comes back because his engine blew up because you installed it wrong. But Gm covers that your not liable right."
And he responds "ya".
"So whats the diffrence here?"
He then told me to try another dealership because the manager said no.
I drove out of there confused and wonder if any one can explain to me what I'm missing here?
Any one else have similar issues?

id call and leave a message for the real manager becasue i can guarantee he diddnt ask any one. thats so much crap. or call another dealership and tell them what happened, im sure the message will get down to them that they are asstards
I wish I could rep you for using the word "asstards"
okay i work at a dealer and this is what i have to say/... bluess is right... they probably didnt say anything to anyone... so next time you go to a dealer for ANYTHING.,, ask to speak to a manager... because otherwise you woudnt get any help sometimes....
that is all.....

THey offered the manifold, exhaust, stg2, putting in a K&N intake for me, putting in the Ingalls ETD, and short throw shifters!
But at my dealer is was $198 for install of Stage 2!
