Talking Just had Stage 2 installed...

Well, yesterday I had stage 2 installed. Running a ZZP 2.9 pulley with 42.5 lb injectors. Going back in tomorrow morning to have the reflash done but as of right now the car is running b-e-a-utiful.

A guy I know who works for a dealership installed it.

As for the pricing, the ZZP pulley with hub was $100 and the injectors (from the dealership) were $400 something and the shortened belt was another $30. When I go back Tomorrow I will pay for the labor after the reflash is done but I don't know how much that will be.

You didn't have the reflash done? Isn't that bad? Especially with a 2.9"? Just curious. I'm glad you like it though. I can't wait till taxes and I'm hopefully getting my stage 2.

All the reflash does is reset the computer to up your rev-limiter to 7k rpm. They couldn't do it yesterday cause GM is closed on weekends now. And the stage 2 makes a HUGE difference. My car is fun to drive again.

Yea, plus I am paying for the labor of the stage install too. Not sure how much it will all be when all said and done. I hope it isn't too much, I just wasted all of my money on X-mas...

Yeah I just thought that the reflash may have done more than move up your rev limiter. I thought it might recalibrate for the extra psi and stuff. I guess I learned something new.

Didn't know about the a/f ratio...

I was told however that I will notice a difference in the way the car runs from now compared to after the reflash. It's crazy too, cause you barely get on it and the boost is at damn near 15. for me anyway. And max boost is between 16 to 17 psi

uh you are very very wrong if you think all it does it up the rev. you think you are gonna be running the same fuel tables on the stock injectors as on the 42's? youve got some research to do

I wouldn't be testing it out especially with the 2.9 pulley. Wait to get a tune and you should really get a custom tune so you can take full advantage of the 2.9.

The guy who did the work on my car is running the same pulley I have and he knows some tips on tuning the cars. I don't know what set-up you prefer but he has beaten guys who are running bigger set-ups than he is. He went the to track and ran a stage 3 SS and creamed it. BTW, the stage 3 ran a 14.9 how sad.

That was probably part of it as well.

Just out of curiosity, does anybody on here have any dyno numbers from a car with smaller than a 2.8 pulley?

yeah, but there pretty worthless becuase everyone is different. So unless you mod on the same dyno and dyno there everytime its hard to tell what you gained.

I have heard of cars putting out pretty close to the same horse power on a dyno with the same mods but yet one of the cars pulled on the other car. Why do you think that is?

Exactly and to the OP you should really do some research to find out exactly what you are doing to your car before you go ahead and put **** on your car. There is a ton of information that you could use on this site so feel free to search it and be sure to use the search feature on the top right under the link to your private messages.
