had the same problem...its just the cheap casting from Chevy and now the tensioner pulley has some freeplay bc of the journal that the pulley rides on.....nothing you can do...I replaced mine....problem came back.......I even went back to a stage 2 pulley from a 2.85" to see if that would help....try ordering just a new pulley.....i.e. just a new pulley with bearing not the tensioner bracket........On an unrelated note: I recently went back to 2.85" bc now I have better cooling mods and I rebuilt my s/c.......but I'm used to all the rattles and knocks that the ecotec design, and even the eaton, makes......As long as she runs and is reliable I wouldn't worry too much........

u mean the oversized tensioner pulley...I'm not sure...and..I'll tell you why...I bought that and shaved a tensioner bracket for it to fit with a bench grinder...and first off the tensioner bearing still seemed to have a lil play in it...even though it was brand new.......also, when i went to put the belt back on the car; it wouldn't fit over the stage 2 pulley...I even tried swapping back to the stock belt instead of the shorter stage 2 belt.......didn't work...I never tried getting it to work for a 2.85" but from how much more belt I needed I'd say u'd probably have to run a 2.7" pulley for that oversized tensioner pulley to even work.......your best bet is the adjustable bc I you want to go back to stock you can adjust it there...3.0"-2.8" adjustment is there, and if you want to run smaller the adjustment is there....its an all around win/ win situation since there are 3 hole adjustments and you need to make sure you eliminate belt slippage........anyways merry christmas I'm gettin' my ass off here.....good luck
