Need Some Mechanical Help/Information
My car is throwing three codes at me from the cel....
The codes are:
P0171-System to Lean Bank One
P0068-MAF/MAP Sensor Throttle Position Correlation
P2228-Barometric Pressure Circuit Low
I have no clue what any of these mean. If someone can explain to me, what each of these mean, how this happened to my car and if it will be covered under warranty i would really appreciate it. Im clueless when it comes to this type of stuff. I have a 2006 chevy cobalt ss/sc with only mod being injen intake.

something not right is the mas airflow in right when you did the intake casue ui have 06 ss/sc and my first mod was a injen intake and i never had any problems i would check to make sure the mass air flow is in right if that not it try cleaning it a little still not dice than take her to the dealer
Did you install the mass airflow sensor backwards in the intake? That may explain it if you just installed the intake. Definitely something with the MAF or Barometric sensor is wrong, make sure they're all plugged in and no wires are freyed or cut. You're throwing a couple codes only because sensors reference eachother, so one sensor will cause other's down the line to be off or throw codes themselves.

well, if its been fine for 6000 miles then thats probably not the problem, but i would check the intake and MAF sensor anyways to make sure its all on correct and everything is sealed and plugged in. Any leak after the MAF sensor will throw the p0171 code.
I got my manual out for this just make sure my assumptions were correct.
P0068 - The MAF/MAP throttle position correlation means something is different between what the MAP is reading and MAF is reading and what they should be reading in relation to each other.
P2228 - Barometric pressure sensor low voltage, meaning your reading isn't what it should be (less than 50kpa). Again why i'd check to make sure all your hoses and intake connection are on strong without any leaks in which it would let air past the sensors.
If all your connections end up being good and strong with no leaks and all of your wires are solidly connected to the sensors as well, then either you should put your stock intake on to see if it all clears and take it into the dealer if it doesn't clear. Or just get an experienced mechanic to make sure at least those 3 sensors (MAF, MAP, and BARO) are working, sensors just go bad sometimes.
I recommend driving your car as little as possible in the meantime because whatevers happening can't be good for it, good luck.

Yo I'm having the same problem I think. One of my sensors or maybe a couple are broken or something. I'm getting a too lean code, a too rich code sometimes, a catalyst system efficiency for bank 1 is below threshold, and some sort of coolant problem where the sensor keeps turning on and off.
You can't really....clean it. Its just a long plastic piece with sensors on the inside of it that you cant really get to. I just tried like 5 minutes ago. No snow or slush, this is Atlanta hahhaa snow..funny.
Actually i was posting to the OP in New Hampshire but.... they sell MAF cleaner , i've used it a few times and it works great . I had a K&N and it must have got some oil on the maf so i sprayed the wires in the small opening on the bottom and in the holes in the metal plate .....let it dry and was back to normal.
It takes 2 cycles of the key to set a code - if its a hard code it will set a light - the lean code is definitly due to the intake - my car is an 06 and it did the same thing, the computer will relearn itself eventually. The lean code and the MAF code are related to each other so I would make sure everything is plugged in which Im sure have already done. Then I would disconnect the battery and then reconnect it after an hour at least. The Baro code is probably just a false code and isnt causing an issue.
what happened to make a long story short i got another thread about it this week i went to get an oil change and the garage unhooked my baro sensor to get to the oil filter they forgot to plug it in i went to pick it up started car and pulled out on road my car said engine power reduced and shut itself off i came back home rip **** went on the site and found out wat it was i went back there later that nite and it was my baro sensor that was unplugged so i plugged itin car ran fine just had a cel when i went back to dealership cel was on till i went to show them then it shut off turned on later that day and the garage was closed so i went to advance to find out wat codes they were... i just want to make sure that after i delete the codes there not gonna come back or im not gonna screw something up in my car
