Water Temp Gauge

Does anyone know where i should put the sending unit for my water temp gauge on the 2.0 ss/sc. My gauge is a full sweep, mechanical water temp gauge.

dude you already have a water temp guage. Your info center you can have it showing your coolant temp. That is your water temp. You should of bought a fuel pressure or oil temp, or oil pressure, or a/f gauge. Water temp is a waste of money.

You're bashing him for spending a few bucks to get a full set of gauges? Many of us wish they'd included proper gauges stock instead of the lame digital readout that you have to scroll through. Heck my base model Beretta had better gauges than ANY Cobalt.

An after market water temp gauge cost him atleast 75 dollars. He could of spent that money else where getting a gauge that is actually useful. there is no point in having two gauges in your car that do the exact same thing. Once again it is a waste of money IMO. And you don't have to scroll through it, I keep mine on the water temp all the time. When I want to know the outside air temp or the mileage i scroll to them but I go right back to the water temp while I am driving.

wow. stop bashing and grow up. To the OP, I believe you install it on the upper rad hose. I have a water temp gauge as well. I hate scrolling through it. And yes GM was stupid for not having basic gauges.

I wasn't replying to you, I was replying to the guy I quoted who says its a waste of money.

Silly me, however, I guess I'll take my love for traditional analog gauges elsewhere.

For the record, I am not bashing him. I am just saying there is already a water temp gauge there and IN MY OPINION it's a waste of money.

well i think that water temp is a great way to spend money. why do you care so much what i spen my money one. and i do have an A/F wide band ,E.G.T. gauge, oil pressure, boost, volts and now water temp. i am custom making a gauge cluster kind of like what mkulrey13 has but different. i also have a 3 pod on the a pillar and the C.A. steering wheel housing so ill have six gauges. dont worry about what i spend money on.......

i could careless what you spend your money on, I'm just trying to give you some advice and help you out as well as maybe save you some money. But apparently people on this thread think I am bashing someone else for trying to help them out. And you may say well I don't need your help. And to that I say lose the cocky attitude, and perhaps your response should be thanks for the input.

Just a thought.

Is there a way to connect a stand alone digital gauge to display the water temp info displayed in the DCI without installing an additional sending unit?

ok.. for those who care you need to get a part from auto meter to cut your upper radiator hose, then that piece has a bung on it for the mechanical gauge. You put the radiator hose back on that big "T" then just wire in your power to the gauge and your done. oh and i also need a gauge with the 12 ft line.
