Sweet thanks for the heads up. Might have to consider the red ones for next auto-x/track season.

I wonder if they will tear up the rotors like the stock ones do.

The Green stuff pads are a street use pad, they shouldn't be too bad on the rotors. If you are goin to use the Red Stuff, be prepared for worse results than the stock pads lol

I figured as much, but when the brakes go I'm planning on some pretty hefty brake upgrades all around anyway, so the stock rotors, pads, and calipers are all history.

I have been thinking about doing a brake upgrade and then I saw the street tuner challenge, thats where they built up a cobalt/skyline/vw(don't remember which one).
Anyway, they left the stock brakes, they did change the rear spindle to a set from a G6. Something about it could handle the racing application better.
All in all, I think the brakes are sufficient. That is, unless its more a cosmetic thing.

Nope it's more a road racing thing. STC if I'm not mistaken was a one-time run of relatively short duration. After a day at the track the brakes feel like crap. Stock pads don't cut it. If I upgrade the pads I'll either go with what they put on the Grand-Am Cup cars (Pagid RS-14) or I'll go with a rotor AND pad upgrade and look at getting better calipers too. I've still got a few months to think on it too.

They changed all 4, and I think it was the Grand Am, because it gave them more wheel options aswell. The G6 has the same bolt pattern as the SS. They just redrilled the stock SS rotors to match the new bolt pattern.

Keep an eye on your rotors. Almost all the Az cars have rotors that are grooved badly. Dealership said GM put on pads that were too hard for the rotors.

Does anybody know the FMSI # on our stock brake pads anyway? I will be ordering a set of Hawk HPS pads if I can't afford the SSBC brake kit. Hawk pads are worlds better than EBC, Hawk is all we use at SSBC, switching over from EBC. If anyone had this info it would be greatly appreciated.
