Brake help

OK. if you were what kind would you get, I drive all day for my job but I want to get better breaks than the POS stock ones. I can't afford a big break kit yet but would like to get better breaks, rotors and pads, But need then to last long or as long as stock ones should. And again are these easy to install yourselfor should you have someone do them for you? Help is appreciated.

I dont think the stock rotors on this car are very good. I think I have to replace mine already. Infact Ive never had any good experiences with GM rotors.

Anyone else?

On my last car (2001 Cavalier Z24), my rotors had to be resurfaced at around 20k miles (because of pulsating). Then I replaced them with Brembo's at around 45k miles because of the same issue. I consider GM's rotors (whoever the manufacturer is) a high maintenance rotor. I wouldn't guarantee that the Cobalt's are capable of lasting long.

I know this, I am wondering what aftermarket calipers/pads are good for the money that will last a long enough time.

Check out the EBC Green pads for street use, I posted some info on where to buy these for our cars brake system a few posts down. Also I posted a thread about rotor replacement and I believe Turbo Tech has slotted rotors for the SS.
