Exhaust CFM ??
Exhaust CFM ??
Hey guys I have recently been looking to get a header and DP for my car and cant seem to find any CFM numbers except for the GM manifold.
I would really like to see how all these other headers compare to the GM manifold. I am certain that the other headers ie. Vibrant, ZZP, CA, ect. will out flow the GM manifold but I would like to see by how much.
I think it would be nice to have a chart of how each aftermarket exhuast flows for our car maybe making a sticky out of it down the road if we can get enough info.
Thanks for any help at all. If you happen to know how much a certain brand of header or DP flows please share. I have searched and the only CFM numbers I have come up with are for the GM parts.

Awesome! That is a wonderful start, I dont know how I missed that.
Is the general rule to keep the entire exhuast flowing about the same CFM? I realize that if one part flows alot more than another, you get a bottle neck situation.

To much CFM is bad because you lose back pressure which is a necessity despite what most people think. CFM is just as important as velocity though. As exhaust gases cool down they actually slow down and lose velocity. I'll try and dig up a really helpful article I saw on this.
^^ Thanks alot, I look forward to reading the article!
I am just tryng to choose an exhaust that is going to flow good and give me the gains that I will feel. I know some will say I have a bad start with my GMPP catback but I like it.
