what to expect

my friend and i are currently in iraq and he's looking to mod is SS so he can keep up with the crew when we get back. Hes looking at the stage five from intense, and exaust, headers, maybe even cam. What I need to know is how well will the tranny hold up on this setup? I know I had to replace my rearend on the z when i added horsepower. What is he going to have to do with the cobalt? Not too up on the fwd cars. Thanks again for you time.

The tranny will be fine, but hes better off making his own stage kit. Its cheaper and canned tunes arent the best. Hes gonna need cooling mods defintily though

He can get Intense Stage 5, but DO NOT use their tune.

He needs to get a custom dyno tune. Intense's tunes have fucked over alot of cobalts

thanks, i think im going to take him to my tunner in killeen, i dont believe in mail order tunes either. What other supporting mods do you think he'll need?

and why kind of hp numbers should he expect, does anyone have stage five from there?

The only thing he'll need is cooling mods, like a cobra heat exchanger.

Recommended but optional is polyurethane control arm bushings, engine mount, transmission mounts and a torque dampener

I wouldn't recommend buying the intense stage 5 and then going to get another tune, that would be just wasting money becuase alot of the price they charge is for the tune. Piece together your own kit, its cheaper.
