Pitted Rims?

I jst got my G5 GT wheels, they are painted and clearcoated, and I guess they just sat around with a lot of brake dust on them, well because they came with brake dust on them

Most spots wiped off pretty easy, but around the spokes, on the side they wont come clean and are this bronzeish color with a few dark spots. I was thinking of trying rubbing compound on them or something because I cant hang my nail on anything, so it cant be that deep. What do you all think?

try a non acid wheel brightener/ wheel cleaner it usually works for me.

use a paint thinner... not a super strong one but something like acresol.. thats what we use at work... I work at a dealer

BTW- Its Acrosol, but we wont hold that against you

If they're clear coated, you can treat them similar to how you would treat your paint. I would recommend starting out w/ a mild polish. A good place to start imo would be poorboys polish w/ sealant or optimums Poli-Seal b/c they are very mild, but will also lay down a coat of sealant at the same time, providing protection to the rim. If you feel as though they warrant a more aggressive polish, ssr1 or ssr2 may be more suitable. You can find all 3 products on this page here:
