nah you don't.. I don't have one and it gets friggin' cold here, just try to protect the car from the wind at night, let the coolant heat up a little before starting to move (I usually let it go up to 0C)

anyone living in below freezing, needs a block heater if they like thier car at all.
just cause it CAN start, doesnt mean the car is happy about it.

Note: The optional block (coolant) heater for the 2007 2.4L has a thermostatically controlled 3 prong 120 VAC plug which does not heat (turn on) unless the ambient air temperature is at 0 degrees F or below. (according to the manufacturer's opinion as noted in their owner's manual)

It's a shame it doesn't work unless the temperature is -18C, if I remember it correctly.

Definitaly get one..The block heater helps keep the coolant warm for an easy start-up...Block heaters are primarily used for starting purposes at colder temperatures and can greatly decrease the warm-up time of the engine and the idling time that should be used. With the blockheater, less fuel is required to start the engine as the engine block is pre-warmed. Block heaters need only to be on between 1 to 2 hours to be effective.

You don't know what you're talking about..Windchill has nothing to do with that..Wind has a negative effect on living creatures, not objects...
