Exclamation Claims of Hp/Tq should be proven by Dyno chart 4th gear pull!

I have been researching on this site for a couple months now and have come to realize that only a couple people have actual proof of horsepower claims. It would be nice to have some more people with upgrades to post dyno charts for proof. It would be more helpful to decide on which upgrade to go with.

I agree. i can back up my hp and tq numbers because i have a dyno chart to prove it. i dynod stock. Now i am going to order hte 2.5" magnaflow catback and then dyno again. Then i am going to order a CAI and dyno again. I want to see what the gains are seperatly

Hoosier Performance is doing EXACTLY that!! We are going to do a stock pull, then a 3" pulley, then CAI, Exhaust, header, etc. A dyno will be done to prove the gains or lack of gains.

It would be nice but since people are going to do whatever they want, just keep searching and wait, no sense complaining about it.

There some 3rd and 4th gear #'s of a factory freak with exhaust.

If you wanna complain about inaccurate dynos then anyone who has a dyno to prove the gains from every mod has to do it based off stock with no other mods. Otherwise you are measuring gains off a group of variables that are almost certainly not mutually exclusive. Meaning that you may get gain overlap where some mods don't do as much when paired with others as they may give alone or you will get gains that work together to give more of a gain together than they would alone. We all know engines are complicated and so is measuring truly what power they put out, especally with variability in construction during every step of the game.

Onto the 4th gear better than 3rd gear thing. Truly you should do a weighted average of the 2 runs because neither gear is truly the all mighty 1:1 ratio that everyone who picks on others dynos seems to want.

Yes this is extreme and completly unrealistic to ask of people to do with every modification they make to their car but if you want "true" gains this is the best way to achieve it.

*edit* for another extreme to make people happy everyone should use the same dyno in a climate controlled are but we know this is impossible too.

Sorry for this post but i am tired of people ripping apart others dynos and as someone who is getting ready to share intake information with the forum it makes me wonder what flack i may get when i do....

Why would you need a climate controlled room when all the dyno's compensate for the weather conditions in the dyno area??

That's on a Mustang dyno. You can't trust number from those because they can be pre-loaded to either increase or reduce HP numbers.

How about taking it to the track to see who can take advantage of the hp/tq?
