If I order the stage 2 from CED will It be under warranty?

So I went into my dealership the other day & was asking about the Stage 2 kit for my car, they gave me some rediculous numbers for the installation & parts... something around $1400.00. So I asked "well what if I order the stage 2 parts myself and then get you guys to install it for me considering I can get the parts for 400$ less from crate engine depot."

They told me the parts will only be under warranty with them if I order them through the dealership & if anything goes wrong then I will have to send the stage 2 kit parts back to wherever I got it from.

I thought as long as its gmpp its under warranty???!

IMO i'd go somewhere else because if they are trying to make a buck off of you for jsut a S2 upgrade, then it shows what kind of money hungry people they are.

i'd stay away and go to another dealership. the people you delt with sound like total dick heads.

The stage 2 will be warrantied only if it's installed by a GM dealer. You don't have to buy it from that dealer, but it's gotta be dealer installed.

Most places will warranty it either way but if something major goes wrong with your car and you installed yourself, I'm sure they'll try and deny it that way. Their writing expressly says it must be installed by a dealer to keep the warranty.

Thanks for the info.

Is there a number I could call or any written proof that you know of so I can use it against them if they deny warranty?

Have the dealer call me if they have any questions, I would suggest going to another dealer who has expierence with installing stage kits though. You don't want to be the dealers guinea pig.

Thank you for your purchase.

I will be buying it from your website in a few weeks but leave me a phone # I can give them in case I need to get ahold of you if I have any problems. They do have experience in installing the stage 2 kits, they're just trying to screw me around.

P.S. You're probably the best vendor I've dealt with

My kit came in yesterday from CED (Thanks guys!) and
is being installed today. Dropped it off at 8:30 this morning.

It's almost 2:00 now. I'm sure it's their first install but they
were confident in their mechanic's ability to get it done right
so I am not too worried yet.

The service manager said he didn't have a problem putting
my ZZP 2.8 pulley on in place of the GM S2 one. They quoted
me ~$190 for the install so I think I'm getting a good deal
regardless of the time it takes.
