dumb question but i need opinions

i just put my ss/sc in a car show yesterday and left pretty upset because of them hating on the fact that my car isnt dropped.. dont get me wrong, i have the money to do it, i just would rather not because where i live, streets/curbs suck royally and dropping it would pretty much destroy my bumper.. so i was wondering if theres a way to get some type of spring compressor to hold the springs during the show and take em off later just to get the right stance... please dont hate on this thread, im just really not wanting to have to get springs just for points at a carshow

yea, I'd go with the fat chicks, just make sure you dress 'em up real nice so you dont lose points.

I've never seen anything like that, but who knows.

You could always buy a set of stock struts and get a set of springs and just swap them out on show days. Wouldn't take any time at all to swap out strut/spring assembly like that.

Buy a set of lower springs for shows and put stock on when your not in shows. Cheapest way I can think of. But it will be annoying replacing the springs in and out if you are in alot of shows.

Don't go to car shows. If you can't handle opinions, you shouldn't be there.

not to mention itll throw off your alignment each time you change it. if you want it lowered for the show, coilovers bags, or lowering springs are yor options. if youre concerned about show looks, then i would say do the mod anyway.

get adjustable coilovers as you can adjust them to a lower height on show days and then back up to stock for daily driving plus you would have a better ride for your day to day trips

had coilovers in the past.. yeah being able to lift and lower are great but it will need to be re aligned EVERY time you mess with em.. as far as airbags and this and that... 1. too much money for just the look 2. i dont want a permanent drop, just for the show and 3. please read the FIRST post before commenting.. all i want is something to TEMPORARILY drop the car for car show purposes, i dont wanna go with a dropped suspension because where i live, its murder on bumpers.. my car scrapes even now with a stock ss/sc suspension

do u guys think that spring compressors like the ones used for installing/removing springs would work? i figure that if the car is on the ground with the weight of the car keeping the springs in while its being compressed, i dont see why this wouldnt work.. any opinions?

you might blow your springs from being compressed so often and possibly lose points for having a spring compressor on your springs while its in the show.

i bought some springs from Superior Sport Chassis, called the "SHOW STOPPERS" when they heat up or change temp the drop, i have noticed as much as 3 inches drop in the front and around 4 in the back, and while driving down the highway with the wind blowing and the air being cooler the will raise as much as an inch, there pretty sweet. $450 can.

i think you're def going to mess something up by compressing and uncompressing your springs for shows. would it work? possibly. but i would think it would be very hard to compress them while they're on the car, and you'd still have to take your wheels off and do it, so itd look pretty weird doing that at a show, since i wouldnt advise driving on springs like that.

didnt think about damaging em.. good points guys.. as far as the heat/cool down springs.. sounds WAY too dangerous... i see that as a problem if they do that with temp changes
