What is this thing attached to the intercooler? I see some SS/SC's with them and I've always wondered what they are. Thanks!

its a sprayer to clear out the air in the intercooler, or inject NOS

if you buy one and strap it onto your radiator... you'll gain like 20 horsepower. even if you don't drive a boosted car.

now, seriously... i always wondered if you attached one to an air-to-liquid heat exchanger (like on the SS/SC)... would it work as effectively as an air-to-air intercooler? normally, i wouldn't think so because of the heat exchange rate of liquids versus air... but i didn't know if anyone actually has put one on an SS/SC heat exchanger?

it will work it just wont do as much as it would to an air to air. but anything to take away the heat from our cars is a good thing

called a spraybar or a nitrous spraybar...just cools down the intercooler so the turbo gets colder air.

a majority of the gains come not from cooling the intercooler but from nitrous making its way into the intake

You wouldnt be able to put one of these on a stock SS, but if you have a cobra or aftermarket HE it would work great.

Wow, have you read a Super Street, D-Sport, Import Tuner, Sport Compact Car, Modified or a Turbo magazine in the last 5 years? lol. Thats an intercooler spray bar. Its mists the intercooler with N20, thus super cooling the intercooler air, resulting in some extra hp. NX, NOS, DEI and Edelbrock all have such offerings in their product catalogs.

I have not read Super Street, D-Sport, Import Tuner, Sport Compact Car, or any other car magazine for that matter. I simply asked a question, which, people have already answered for me. So thanks for reminding me, as well as everyone else who reads this thread, that I don't read car magazines and that I am not a car god.
