clutch problem on normal driving (recall?)

just wondering if anyone knew of clutch problems on the 2005 regular cobalt...my clutch pedal sunk to the floor at 2536 miles...Im waiting at home now with only a day and a half gone by for a tow truck to ramble on over.....any recalls on this? dont appear to be the clutch itself, more a problem with the clutch pedal/cable assembly...I didnt ask much when i brought it in first time, but you bet ur ass i will now....

mind you, this is normal driving, first time it happened as i was going to back it out of a parking space, next when I was pulling off a highway, so not like im beatin on it...

checking lemon laws now

thanks

Just checked, no recalls or bulletins for your problem.

Aren't they all hydraulic?

The 1998-2000 F-Bodies had this problem. A small screen was used in the fluid line to soften clutch engagement to save the weak rear end. The unwanted effect of this was the fluid would foam up and the clutch pedal would stay down until you pulled it back up.

So with all of that said it seems as if there is air in the system.

Your car is far from being considered a lemon if this is the only problem... Though, you might want to drop in call by GM (not the dealer) about the same problem not being fixed after 3 times.

Interesting, I've never heard of that before.

Does it affect the 2001-2002 models as well, or just the 1998-2000 F-bodies??

In 2001 they went with a different set of hydrualics and a Z06 Clutch assembly.

Question

well, got the car back and they didnt replace anything...just said that there is a ball and socket connection on the cable and chevy said just to press it back together...dealer said he thought this will probably re-occur and looks like an upcoming recall....so guess i need to keep a big stopping distance...very odd situation to be in. time will tell im sure.

thanks for the replies.
