get rid of the shitty narrow band, you should get a wideband if you want to get nitrous

If you get a AFR guage does it come with a sensor(or atleast some wires to tap into a sensor)? Also are there any that dont say "lean/stoich/rich"? I would perfer numbers because I really dont give a shiot about meeting emissions.

The only reason i have one is for running N20. Other than boost applications do you realy need one. For a narrow band you tap into cars O2 senor wire before the ECU. Narrow bands are too inaccurate to have numbers. There just for an idea of how ur car is running.

Does the AEM wideband match the stock gauges? If not, are they any that do?

I kno this but they work off reading a current sent from the sensor. Anyone kno what range this current is in? like 1-7volts or something like tht?

Mostlikely either 0-1 or .50-4.50.

I WILL figure this out. i need to find a way to only have the gauge respond when im at WOT in an open loop. What if i used a WOT micro switch somehow. I cant use a window switch... hmmmm...

well, the factory narrow band o2's give readings in Milivolts. However they are constantly moving around anywhere between 100-900 mV's about. The gauge you have will be doing that all the time....if not, your o2 isn't working right, or your gauge is messed up.

Sell it, get a wideband if you want actual AFR #'s.....otherwise, deal with the pretty lights

also, factory o2's work with the vehicle in closed loop....WOT your car is no longer in closed loop, so your narrowbands will no longer be valid

Dont narrow bands give a constant reading at WOT? Open loop just means its not oscillating constantly

yes, they give readings.....they will usually stick in the 900 mV area give or take under WOT. Most of my logs I have under WOT my factory o2 stays between 890-900 mV's and it doesn't move around much. You want an accurate reading for forced induction or nitrous get a wideband /story

so, then what is the point of having the gauge in the first place?

? when did i say that. im agreeing with you. a narrow band does give a general reading of rich or lean and a narrow band is useless and annoying at anytime BUT WOT

while it will give you a "general" idea rich or lean......I personally wouldn't trust it for any tuning purposes or to know what my motor is doing. I'd rather buy a $300 sensor vs. a $2,000 motor
